Machine Taps — Spiral Flute (Form C)

Machine taps with spiral flutes and a Form C chamfer (2-3 thread leads) are engineered primarily for blind hole threading operations. The helical flutes provide efficient upward chip evacuation, preventing chip packing and tool breakage at the bottom of the hole. Manufactured from HSS-E or powdered metal and often coated with TiN or TiAlN, they withstand high torsional forces. They are heavily utilized in CNC machining for threading ductile, stringy materials like stainless steel and nickel alloys.
