Grub Screws
Spring plungers, also known as ball grub screws, are externally threaded cylinders that provide dynamic locating and holding power by housing an internal spring that pushes a captive ball or pin against a mating surface. Available with varying spring tensions—as well as distinct nose materials like hardened steel, nylon, or ceramic—they offer controlled, repeatable resistance for detent operations and wear protection. They are critical in fixturing and indexing systems, commonly used to precisely align, temporarily lock, or eject moving components without permanently clamping the assembly in place.
