Flange Bolts

Flange bolts integrate a washer-like circular flange directly beneath the hexagonal or 12-point head, eliminating the need for separate load-distributing washers. This expanded bearing surface distributes the clamping force across a larger area, significantly reducing localized stress and preventing material yielding. In many designs, the underside of the flange incorporates serrations that bite into the mating surface, providing superior resistance to vibration-induced loosening. They are heavily employed in automotive engine assemblies, suspension frameworks, and high-vibration industrial machinery.
